The Theme
The theme for 2009 evokes the art of concealment in every sense : wearing a mask, changing one's appearance, staging, in short the art of deception. From a simple disguise to plastic surgery, from manipulation to celebrity press & the Carnival is no longer the only realm of fancy dress and device in all its forms, represented in a modern and outrageous fantasy...

Cartoonists from the most important international newspapers, privileged witnesses of their time and their culture, have once again been approached to create the visual identity of a modern carnival & whilst respecting tradition.
